Top 5 Beach Wedding Beauty Rules
1. Blotting Papers. Be careful and don’t overdue powder make-up, it will cake as soon as the humidity hits your skin. Instead, opt for a little packet of oil blotting papers. In fact, these are great to throw in your bridesmaid’s goodie bags. (They’ll appreciate all these tips too – so be sure and share this post!) I like the Too Faced brand and their pretty packaging:
2, Primer- Primer – Primer. This shiny little bottle accompanies me on every trip to the tropics. It hasn’t failed me yet, however; it only lasts for a few hours, so be sure and do your make-up as close as possible to your ceremony time. Double up on the primer and cut your powder routine in half. I like MAC Prep & Prime:
3. Lip & Cheek Stain. Fact: Make-up melts in the tropics. Invest in a good ruby red primer. It won’t look so red on your tanned skin. Apply to lips and cheeks under your blush and lipstick. If the later melts off somewhere between the aisle and the final “I Do”, you’ve still got a little color. I use both of these – Tarte on my cheeks and Stila on my lips:
4. Do you have any male cousins from New Jersey? If so, make sure they get the invite so you can raid their doc kit and borrow some of their super spike gel – you know, the blue stuff. Don’t go crazy, but remember curls only hold for minutes – not hours – in the tropics, so use a stronger hold product than you normally would.
5. Waterproof Mascara. Even if you don’t think you’re the mushy type and don’t plan on shedding any tears at your event, be careful because humidity can strike at any time and if you don’t wear waterproof mascara, you might look like you just climbed out of the pool. I love Dior Show but have found that Maybeline XXL is a great alternative for less $$:

Laura,These are great tips. I know several couples who have gotten married in the Caribbean, and in all of the hustle and bustle of getting everything for everyone else just right, they forget to consider what it will take for them (or their bridesmaids) to look their best on that magical day. This is definitely a great checklist!Ben (theCaribbeanAmphibian)
