This is Rob Nicholson:

This is Rob Nicholson’s Company:

These are a few of my favorite shots from a recent Destination Wedding Mr. Rob shot in Jamaica. You may view the rest of this collection here:

And how lucky is Mr. Rob that he was asked to come to Jamaica once-upon-a-time (March 2008) and photograph a visit by a certain Prince. You may view the rest of this collection here:

I had a few questions for Mr. Rob. A man of few words, but big images, here is what he had to say:
Laura: What is the largest wedding you have ever shot? And smallest?
Rob: Over 300 people was the biggest wedding I’ve shot. The smallest was about 40 people in Jamaica.
Laura: I have had a few client brides under the impression that AM light in the tropics makes for the best shots. In the Caribbean, what is the best time of day for picture perfect lighting?

Rob: 1/2 hour before and after the sunrise and sun set are great for pictures. Although sunset has a warmer glow because the air is warmer from being heating all day.
Laura: Is your talent a studied art or a natural born gift?
Rob: My mother was an artist and I picked up a camera at a very early age. Never went to art or photography school. Self-taught photographer.
Laura: You were lucky enough to earn a pretty royal assignment earlier this year. Do you want to tell me more about that?
Rob: Hell yes! That is my claim to fame my friend!

Laura: What inspired you to shoot the Caribbean, or was a wedding job the introduction?
Rob: Honestly I went down there for the first time on my honeymoon. Then fell in love with the people, landscapes and lifestyle! Then headed down to photograph the Prince and fell in love again. Then the Jamaica wedding……you know the story.
Laura: A few standard questions that all my interview subjects are subjected to… What is your favorite Caribbean souvenir?

Rob: Other then taking photos…I like buying local artwork from local artists.
Laura: Where will you be going on your next Caribbean trip?
Rob: I’d like to go back to Jamaica to teach a workshop for the SOS Village kids on photography.

THE POINT OF THIS INTERVIEW IS THAT I,
LAURA SANGSTER – DESTINATION WEDDING COORDINATOR, HEREBY RECOMMEND ROB NICHOLSON AS ONE SUPER FABULOUS PHOTOG THAT YOU SHOULD CERTAINLY CONSIDER FOR YOUR WEDDING!
