Destination Wedding Songs
In case you didn’t start my blog from the beginning, you might not know that we were planning our Destination Wedding while running our business in South Florida, dodging hurricanes, and relentlessly trying to get an accurate idea of how many of our 250 invitees would attend. Needless to say, something was bound to fall through the cracks… sadly, it was our wedding song. We toyed with many ideas in casual conversation but the wedding song pow-wow of listening to options for hours on end while we shared a bottle of wine and practiced our slow dance never happened. So, we arrived in Jamaica empty handed and only during our reception did it occur to us that we never agreed on a song. One of my husband’s relatives asked the DJ to play a song and forced us up to dance… and I am mortified at saying so but my wedding song was a not so lovely tune by Bryan Adams. There is absolutely no need to mention this ever again in my life because my husband and I now have an IPod full of songs we share memories too. Point being, don’t let this happen to you! Over the years I have helped many brides decide what Destination Wedding Song is right for them. You see, not all traditional wedding songs are the right match for slow dancing barefoot in the sand… Here is my list:
1. By Your Side – Sade
2. Love’s Divine – Seal
3. Come Away with Me – Norah Jones
4. Crush – Dave Matthews Band
5. Me & You – Kenny Chesney (He had a Destination Wedding, remember?)
6. Is this Love? – Bob Marley
7. Turn Your Lights Down Low – Bob Marley
8. Better Together – Jack Johnson
9. Believe in Love – Maxi Priest
10. When You Say Nothing at All – Ronan Keating
